Is used to route claims electronically.  Each claim must be associated with a payer ID.  If using ProxyMed's software, EZ-Claim, ProxyMed can assign these numbers.  Speak to your Implementation Coordinator or Account Executive for more information.  If sending directly from your practice management system, speak to your practice management software vendor about where to store payer IDs.  You may notice a change in Payer ID since our last update.  Please note, ProxyMed will continue to accept all previous codes.

Comm = Commercial health plans and those participating Blue Cross and Blue Shield carriers.
Govn't = Medicare, Medicaid and non participating Blue Cross Blue Shield payers.
Paper = Payers that can not receive claims electronically.  ProxyMed prints to paper and mails to payer.
ST =
State specific payers have state abbreviation, national payers are blank.
Provider ID Required =
Payer has stated unique ID #'s are assigned to each provider or group.  Contact your payer representative for more information.  These #'s must appear on each claim record.
Enrollment Authorization =
Payer requires notification and/or paperwork be completed prior to sending claims.  Contact ProxyMed's Enrollment department for more information.  (888) 894-7888 selection 2.
Response Level =
This indicates the claim status response/acknowledgement you will receive back from ProxyMed and the payer.  ProxyMed indicates ProxyMed acknowledges claim, payer does not.  Payer acknowledgement indicates payer will also acknowledge claim.  Payer Claim S
